Conditions We Treat

Approved, evidence-based indications

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is covered by Medicare and most insurance for the conditions below. If you don't see your condition, call us — we'll tell you honestly whether HBOT is right for you.

Diabetic foot ulcers

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a Medicare-approved adjunct for diabetic lower-extremity wounds classified Wagner Grade 3 or higher that have failed 30 days of standard wound care. By dissolving oxygen directly into plasma at therapeutic pressure, HBOT restores oxygen delivery to compromised tissue, stimulates new blood-vessel growth, and supports infection control — helping close wounds and reduce the risk of amputation.

Non-healing wounds

When a wound stalls despite good wound care, the underlying problem is usually inadequate oxygen at the wound bed. HBOT raises tissue oxygen to levels unreachable at normal pressure, reactivating the healing cascade: fibroblast activity, collagen formation, and angiogenesis. Treatment is coordinated with your physician or wound-care center.

Radiation tissue injury

Radiation can leave tissue scarred and oxygen-starved months or years after cancer treatment (delayed radiation injury, including osteoradionecrosis and soft-tissue radionecrosis). HBOT is one of the few therapies shown to regrow capillary networks in irradiated tissue, and is an approved, insurance-covered indication.

Chronic osteomyelitis

Chronic refractory osteomyelitis — bone infection that persists despite surgery and antibiotics — responds to the elevated oxygen tensions achieved in a medical-grade chamber. Oxygen enhances white-cell killing capacity and potentiates certain antibiotics, working alongside your infectious-disease or surgical team.

Compromised grafts & flaps

When a graft or flap shows signs of failure, time is tissue. HBOT improves oxygenation in the compromised tissue, reduces edema and reperfusion injury, and measurably improves salvage rates. Rapid referral coordination with your surgeon is our priority.

Surgical & problem wounds

From dehisced surgical wounds to other UHMS-recognized indications, our clinical team evaluates eligibility, verifies coverage, and co-manages treatment with your physician. If HBOT is not appropriate, we will tell you — and help you find what is.
